[Updated with some official photography from Whitney Ferguson Photography! If I had known the first pics would be this fast, I would have waited the day to post (: ]

Once upon a time, my husband received a Facebook message from a high school chum saying her sister-in-law had just moved back to central NC and wanted to start a theatre company. Was he interested? Fast forward a couple of years, and said sister-in-law, Jessica, is not just our occasional employer, but also a dear friend to us both.

Hampton and I were playing the bride and groom in one of her murder mysteries when she needed another guy our age; we didn’t have any available actor friends, so she put out an all call. The guy who ended up taking the role ended up taking her heart, as well, and we spent the weekend celebrating their wedding! Jessica and Phillip had no attendants but many out of the area friends coming to the wedding, so in place of the traditional rehearsal dinner, we did what we do best — interactive dinner show murder mysteries.  In honor of Phillip’s love of sci-fi, Jessica had our usual author work up a murder set at a comic-con, and guests were encouraged to come in costume!

This may be one of my favorite Phoenix Theatre Co. shows yet, and Hampton and I had a lovely mini-break away. Bonus!

I recently sang for some work events.  No one recognized me without my glasses.  Foreshadowing to playing “Wonderful” Woman!
We stayed at Celebrity Dairy. I’ll spare you ALL of the baby goat pictures.

My darling in-laws have been to most of our Phoenix shows. Ellen loves asking questions and choosing the murderer!
Hampton forgot his dress shoes, so we ended up taking a trip to the Mebane outlets on Saturday. Which led to discovering Saxapahaw and the Eddy Pub. What a gorgeous day!
I even got a (quick, short, hot) run in on this gorgeous back road. Felt like home!

From taking selfies at a fake wedding to taking selfies at a real one!
There were even fireworks! Special end to a wonderful weekend.
