On Brand – 22 Feb 26

🍴:

Mon – TJ’s new frozen miso sablefish with togarashi rice, sautéed mixed mushrooms, and smashed cucumbers

Tues – fauxtouffee with TJ’s new bay scallops, Black tiger shrimp, an andouille, wild rice, salad for Mardi Gras.

Wed – Lunar New Year celebration with char siu pork chops (inspo here but with bone-ins from Smoke City Meats) and a salad based off this but also with glass noodles and radishes and and sub pickled carrots.

Thurs – Hampton was at a basketball game. I did laundry and ate leftovers. Delicious, delicious leftovers.

Fri – fried chicken with cheesy French fries and gravy (surprise poutine bc we were out of mashed potatoes), green beans

Sat – a late hot pot and Korean bbq lunch with friends meant no one needed dinner

Sun – Cugino Forno before a gig next door at Grapes & Grains

🥃: the wassail I made for New Year and keep forgetting about is still tasty — and went into the cornstarch slurry for the slow cooker Bourbon Chicken I made for the office Fat Tuesday lunch.

🐶:

Apparently I was a photo slacker this week, so here’s a fave from the archive.

📚: This week, I finally decided to make a spreadsheet of all my NetGalley books and their archive dates so I can maybe catch up in 2026.

Nevermind the additional handful I’ve added since then….

This week’s Libby reads were not my favorite (one needed a CW for disordered eating) so I should probably stick to the NGs this week. [Narrator: lol]

🎭:

We Returned to the Buffalo Speakeasy this week, and Ethan and I were recognized from Rent, which was a fun surprise. The lady told me during the first interrogation section so I told her she was very observant and asked who she thought committed the murder 😂

And now, it’s time for a wee break. I was debating some upcoming auditions but the show I wanted to do the most has been cancelled, so I’m choosing to focus on a concert in March, a new murder mystery TBA in April, and prepping for Hedwig: Take 3.

I think 🤗
