On Brand – 4 Jan 26

This was seriously done and drafted but here we are, another year, same as the last.

🍴:

Mon – Farro Risotto With Sauteed Mushrooms and Fennel — sliced the fennel instead of wedging for my texture preferences, sliced the mushrooms instead of chopping to make them more meaty, and added some Aleppo and ACV for Flat 493 preferences and what a dang delight. Next time (and there will be a next time, will spoon in a dollop of Greek yogurt to make it even more decadent.

Tues – Steak au Poivre Jacket Potatoes with the last of last week’s parm vin green beans.

Wed – pork tenderloin with pan sauce, roasted spuds and sprouts with goat cheese

Thurs – Turkey Curry Buffet

Fri – Italian burgers (with pesto, leftover gravy, and fresh mozz), fries, shaved brussels sprout salad

Sat – crispy chicken thighs and loaded mash with a mushroom marsala sauce, salad

Sun – continuing a theme: crispy skinned salmon with pesto farro and zucchini

🥃: how did it take me this long to realize a slow cooker drink would help mask the smell of dogs for a party.

🐶: sleepy Berry week

📚: I finished the year with 124 books, 64 shorts/novellas, and 5 DNF. This year, I’ll remember to start the highlights for a proper year-end roundup.
