On Brand – 30 Nov 25

🍴:

Mon – rehearsal after dance class = forgettable leftover for a late dinner

Tues – Arby’s in the car on the way to PA

Wed – Davis family dinner, traditional Thanksgiving style. I did not feel like coming up with something the kids would eat, so decided on this salad to use up sweet potatoes and pom arils and ensure I got some raw greenery.

Thurs – my bothers’ families had in-law days, so I went our fave phyllo torte to use up ham from the day before and random cheese from a work meeting. Made it early in the day for an easy peasy lazy day dinner. We also took the good evoo and the famous wine vinegar condiment for Argus OTS.

Fri – a nephew came back to NC with us so I could take him back to college the next day. He loves salmon, so we did a crispy skin version with an Asian-inspired glaze, rice, green bean, and carrot quickle with togarashi.

Sat – ribeye with crispy potatoes and pan-roasted Brussels. They were supposed to be oven-roasted but our oven is on the fritz. Happy thoughts for tomorrow’s handyman visit, please and thank you 🤞🤞🤞

Sun – smothered boneless pork chops — this recipe, sans onions plus a splash of whiskey bc had looked at another recipe that used it but I didn’t have mushrooms on hand for that one — with cheddar cheesy mash and sautéed zukes

🥃: we took two bottles of Two Wolves to PA this week. Shame no one else wanted any and Hampton and I had it all to ourselves 😜

Here’s to Happy Travelers.

📚: Four more books off my NetGalley shelf! The best was I Don’t Wish You Well by Jumata Emill. I was so sucked in by my hatred of athlete worship and “boys will be boys”, I was a sucker and missed something super obvious, which I found supremely delightful.

🎭:

First day of SEAGULL school following another great contemporary jazz class at UNCSA.
