Fun fact: I had this all mainly drafted and already to go… and forgot to finish it on Sunday when I had a costume fitting, yoga, and two blocks of rehearsal. Y’all know I never claimed to be a proper blogger.
🍴:
Mon- the world’s fastest caldo verde soup inspired by this month’s Food & Wine and some random chorizo we needed to use up.
Tues – simple ribeye with a shaved Brussels salad and pan roasted potatoes
Wed – wings with TJ’s new yangnyeom sauce, fries, and crudités.
Thurs – Thursdays are Piedmont Opera’s day off and I could not decide if I wanted something extra since it was the one night to cook or something easy to get to tv sooner. Ended up with a take on this, adding some leftover pork and sautéed kale and making the relish out of leftover boozy olives from dirty martini baked potatoes.
Fri – choose your own leftover adventures before (and after) a Mystery Men show.
Sat – went to check that we had orzo for this, and realized we could sub some of our Rancho Gordos — esp since the Q1 bean club box finally arrived this week. Also added some baby bellas to make the leftovers heftier and made some extra broth for garlic bread because garlic bread.
Sun – I had an hour dinner break, so we brined some chicken thighs the day before and did an easy grilled chicken salad.
🥃: I love a chilled red. There is a sparkling gamay I had once that has been discontinued and of which I am still trying to find a sub. Also, we still have the bottle of a rosè Lambrusco we got back in Raleigh as a decoration. The Lambrusco TJ’s usually carries is too sweet and meh, but they recently got this Lambrusco Red in — from the same maker as the one I loved all those years ago — and it is a delight.
🐶: Raspberry, who is every stereotype of rescue chihuahua ever, ten pounds of need and rage, had her yearly checkup and…. didn’t bark at anyone? Human, canine, or feline? I wasn’t there, but Hampton swears it is true.
Here she is enjoying one of our travel pillows before the Vietnam trip last month.

📚: my Libby hold for ONE OF US IS NEXT came in and my xennial heart refuses to believe that Karen McManus is not inspired by early CDubs dramas. Hashtag complimentary.
🎭: As mentioned, we had a murder mystery — and I took zero proper pictures:

Also, happy International Women’s Day from the femmes at the day’s MAN OF LA MANCHA rehearsal:
