Fury Us

My second Heavy Feather Review submission is now live! Furies: Thus Spoke is an lovestory to the superhero genre and a strong allegory for the cruelty that is dividing our nation. You can read the full review here.

I really wanted to talk about the author’s successful use of African-American Vernacular English, but wasn’t sure, as a white person, how to do it without sounding patronizing. I reached out to Mr. Gunn, and he gave me some wonderful quotes to pull from. He is a lovely person, and I can’t wait for him to finish his next book so I can get back to Dominion City.

This will be my last “proper” review for a bit. I have a bunch of shows coming up the first half of 2020, and I don’t want books to be a chore during that busy time.  Let me know if you have something easy and beautiful to recommend for rehearsal reading!
