Revenge is a dish best served cold. I hope?

Earlier this summer, I had my first chance to participate in the First To Read program from Penguin Random House.

In this program, you can sign up to bid to review digital galleys of books that have yet to be published. As free books are some of my favorite things, I was totally in, and psyched to get one of my first requests fulfilled.

Of course, then ADDAMS FAMILY rehearsals began, which severely limited my reading time, and I completely missed that my download would expire before the reviews themselves are due – d’oh!

So now I guess I’m very excited to be able to pick up a hard copy of this book in person so I can finish it.

The Exes’ Revenge, Jo Jakeman

This is the story of one terrible man and the three women who love(d) him.

Any time a story starts at one point and unravels backward, I’m impressed by the author’s ability to make me rethink everything I assumed from the start.

I hesitate to say more as I want you to be as surprised as I was by the truths that emerged.

This book made me very angry at times, yelling at my phone for bad choices being made, and the descriptions of violence were very graphic and made me hurt.

I look forward to getting a chance to finish this and seeing how the revenge was completed!

The book will be officially released on September 11, and you can pre-order through the link above. It’s not an affiliate link, just handy (:

I received access to this galley for free through the First to Read Program. No other compensation was involved and all opinions are my own.

If you’re interested in reviewing on a more long term basis, I would highly recommend it. It’s where I get most of my ARCs.
