On Brand – 2 Feb 25

🍴:

Mon – rehearsal downtown meant Thai Harmony, our fave sushi in town

Tues – dinner with our dogsitter and their partner, who conveniently live a few blocks away and are dear friends — Smoke City Meats ribeyes with a radish corn salad (because we accidentally double bought radishes) à la Feasting at Home plus dressed-up TJ’s frozen plantains

Wed – merguez and Rancho Gordo lentils with dates, TJ’s whipped feta, and fennel two ways (caramelized and pickled) inspired by this Blue Apron that somehow hit my Pinterest

Thurs – entertainment for a Forsyth Country Club dinner. They served us filet with asparagus and potatoes and onions and some sort of orange sauce afterward, which was a pleasant surprise. It was cold by the time I changed and then I came home and binge ate string cheese and TJ’s new Pizza Party chips and Jingle Jangle, but, still a pleasant surprise.

Fri – lobster mac with arugula salad. We can’t quit Prime until THE BOYS ends, so took advantage of a seafood sale. But TJ’s was out of the good boxed mac we usually dress up and I did our taxes beforehand so it all felt very sad and metaphoric — lobster tail, basicest of mac and cheese; we don’t make enough money to pay this much on taxes.

Sat – Cornish game hens with whiskey cream sauce, mashed potatoes, and roasted Brussels

Sun – sweet chili and pistachio halibut with quinoa/ cabbage/piquillo pepper salad and avocado inspired by this. Just like the lobster, the evil empire had halibut on sale this week, and we had slaw mix to use up.

🥃: we intended to get fancy cocktails before or after rehearsal night and then timing was off, so yet another un-new drink week.

🐶: line study partner

📚: Lisa Unger is my new fave white lady thriller writer. Finished two of her back catalog this weekend thanks to Libby’s Available Now.

🎭: as mentioned above, midweek Mystery Men mayhem

Also, after the show, I recorded a voiceover for a new witchy BlueSkyquaintance. I’m still just dabbling into the world of spicy psychology, and haven’t had a chance to watch the video yet, but it was very fun to go from improv with an airhead character voice to *Serious VO*.
